Engagement of Act Apprentices for training under the Apprenticeship Act.1961.
Applications are invited in the prescribed format for engagement of 202 Act-Apprentices for
imparting training in Technical Training Centre, Rail Coach Factory (Kapurthala) under the
Apprenticeship Act.1961, for the following trades.

The candidates who are fulfilling the following conditions are eligible to apply for Act
Apprenticeship:-
01 The minimum eligibility criteria for applying for Act Apprenticeship shall be a
National Trade Certificate after successfully completion of ITI Course.
02 The candidates will be considered for engagement as Act Apprentice only in the
trades in which they have completed their ITI. ITI certificate issued by NCVT only
will be valid.
03 Reservation of seats for SC, ST & OBC candidates will be 15%, 7.5% and 27 %
respectively.
04 3% of vacancies are reserved each for Physically Handicapped persons and Exservicemen,
their children and children of armed force personnel.
05 Candidates are to be of 15 to 24 years of age as on 17.06.2013. In case of trades
Welder and Carpenter where qualification is 8th class the upper age limit will be 22
years. Upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years and 03 years in case of SC/ST and
OBC candidates respectively & 10 years for physically handicapped persons.
6 i) Enrollment with Emplopyment Exchange of Punjab is must except for Wards
of employees of RCF/Kapurthala.
ii) Only ST Candidates belonging to Himachal Pradesh / Jammu & Kashmir &
Uttarakhand are eligible to apply having enrolment with Employment Exchange of their respective States.
07 Stipend will be paid as per extant rules.
08 Mode of selection will consist of:-
i) Written test.
ii) Written test will be held in last week of September /2013. The standard of
examination will be ITI. Question paper will be in English, Hindi and
Punjabi languages.
iii) Result of written test will be published equal to the seats notified in order
of merit. 10% extra candidates will be kept as the waiting list in respective
trades, keeping in view of non-reporting of candidates within the prescribed
time/failing in medical test.
iv) Those who qualify in the examination and placed on panel will have to
undergo a medical test by paying requisite fee and those who are found fit
shall have to execute a contract before actually being enrolled for training. If
he/she is a minor, his/her guardian has to enter into a contract of apprentices
with the employer.
09 i) No daily allowance/conveyance or traveling allowance will be paid to the
candidate who will be called for written test tests. SC/ST candidates will
be issued 2nd class journey traveling facility from the nearest Railway
station to Hussainpur and back for attending the selection only.
ii) The selected candidates will be sent to Technical Training Centre , Rail Coach
Factory(Kapurthala) for training in their respective trades for one year in all
categories except Carpentry trade where their training is for 02 years.
iii) The selected candidates will not be given any Hostel Accommodation
(or any other facility). They will have to make their own arrangements for
their stay during the training period.
10 THE LAST DATE OF RECEIPT OF APPLICATION IS 16.07.2013.
Applications should reach Office of the GM(P), Rail Coach Factory(Kapurthala)
latest by 16.07.2013 at 17 hrs. The application can also be dropped in the Box kept
in the office of GM(P). The box shall finally be closed at 17.00 hrs. on
16.07.2013. After this date and time no application will be entertained.
11 An additional passport size identical photograph as affixed on the Application form,
with name & address at back side of photograph is required.
12 Each candidate will attach attested photocopies of their relevant certificates and
testimonials along with the application form. Incomplete application or with
over-writing/erasing or not supported by attested copies of certificates/testimonials,
caste certificate on prescribed form (In case of SC/ST/OBC candidates only)
will be rejected. No correspondence in respect of the application submitted
shall be entertained by this office from any individual.
13 The decision of the RCF Administration in regard to acceptance or otherwise of
any application even without assigning any reason or in regard to selection of the
candidates and their training will be final.
14 Selected candidates will be liable to be summarily dismissed at any stage
without any notice, if it is found that they have furnished wrong/false information
or documents in support of their selection.
15 After passing the course of Act Apprentices there will be “NO GUARANTEE FOR
THEIR EMPLOYMENT ON THE RAILWAYS”.
16 Physically handicapped persons must submit their proof of disability issued by the
Competent Authority
17 Candidates applying for different trades with ITI qualification should mention
on the top of the envelop “APPLIED FOR TRADE ______________ “.
NOTE:- i.) READ THE ABOVE MENTIONED INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY,
BEFORE FILLING UP THE APPLICATION FORM.

ii) All the eligible candidates should keep themselves in readiness for
written examination which is scheduled to be held in last week of Sep. 2013.

1) ONE EXTRA PASSPORT SIZE IDENTICAL PHOTOGRAPH AS AFFIXED ON THE
APPLICATION FORM, WITH NAME & ADDRESS AT THE BACKSIDE OF
PHOTOGRAPH IS REQUIRED. THE PHOTOGRAPH SHOULD NOT BE MORE THAN
THREE (3) MONTHS OLD.

WARDS OF RCF EMPLOYEES ARE EXEMPTED FROM REGISTRATION WITH
EMPLOYMENT EXCHANGE.
